HALF TERM- Days12 to 20

So it's now half term, not going to lie, have been relaxing a bit, but I have also been working on animating the main character in a chibi style.

I was eventually able to create this idle animation for the character. I worked on a walking animation, but I hasn't turned out quite right so I may start again when I'm back in college.

Collab Project 3- Day 10

We are thinking about making the style of the game more chibi. I showed Mike and Laura this clip from an animation of a chibi style character, which they quite liked.

I had another go at animating in GIMP 2. I'm still not very good at using the program or animating. I tried working on an idle animation for the character. In games, characters rarely stand completely still. They often sway slightly or they move up and down a little as they breathe.

It's still really bad

Collab Project 3- Day 9

With the design down, it's time to think about the in-game appearance of the character, along with the animation. I spent all of today trying to make a test animation for the walk cycle that we could possibly use as a base. This is the animation I made (I've never animated before so it's kinda bad)

Collab Project- Day 8

So through our discussion on Friday we had arrived at a colour palette for our male character. To day I wanted to create the final concept art for him. I know what pose I what him to have, the same as the pose Link has in the concept art for Zelda: Skyward Sword
I've worked on it all day and this is the final piece I've got:

Collab Project 3- Day 4

I was unsure on the colours I'd chosen for the design I'd come up with yesterday. I've 27 palette swaps for the character. This is probably a bit much, I wanted to experiment with the different colour combos.

Colourful

Collab Project 3- Day 1

Today is the start of our newest project. In this project we are to use the game engine Construct 2 to create a 2D game.
I've joined a group with Mike and Laura and we're going to create an adventure/platformer game.
We ha to present to the group our idea and why we should work together, so we created this prezi: Click here!
